Craniosacral therapy
(CST) is a method of alternative medicine used by massage therapists, naturopaths, chiropractors and osteopaths, who manually
apply a subtle movement of the spinal and cranial bones to bring the central nervous system into harmony. Treatment can be
performed successfully for individuals of all ages, including infants.
This therapy involves assessing and addressing the
movement of the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), which can be restricted by trauma to the body, such as through falls, accidents,
and general nervous tension.
By gently working with the spine, the skull and its cranial sutures, diaphragms, and fascia,
the restrictions of nerve passages are eased, the movement of CSF through the spinal cord can be optimized, and misaligned
bones can be restored to their proper position.
By complementing the body's natural healing processes, CST is increasingly
used as a preventive health measure for its ability to bolster resistance to disease, and is effective for a wide range of
medical problems associated with pain and dysfunction, including:
- Mental Stress
- Neck
and Back Pain
- Migraine Headaches
- Attention Deficit Syndrome (ADD & ADHD)
- TMJ Syndrome
- Central Nervous System Disorders
- Orthopedic Problems
- Traumatic Brain and Spinal Cord Injuries
- Scoliosis
- Learning Disabilities
- Chronic Fatigue
- Emotional Difficulties
- Stress and Tension-Related
Problems
- Fibromyalgia
- Post-Traumatic
Stress Disorder
- Post-Surgical Dysfunction
